This is a dram with smoky power, mellowed by a delectabkle, smooth sweetness. Hallmark Ardbeg peat, dark chocolate and aniseed are wrapped in smooth silky butterscotch, black pepper and clove, before rising to an intense cresendo of flavour.
A relatively recent release from Ardbeg, this whisky is marriage of several different types of casks, including new charred oak, PX sherry and first fill bourbons casks.
The Oa takes its name from the Mull of Oa which provides shelter for the distillery from the extreme Atlantic weather.
