The Casa Turrent 1880 Claro is a milder blend, with a lighter Mexican habano criollo wrapper, a Mexican binder from San Andrés, and fillers from Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

Wrapped in a beautiful light Tawny wrapper – Smooth and flavourful, the tastes build from the first draw - earthy, with mineral notes and caramel to start, joined by savoury leather, cinnamon and nutmeg (with a subtly aromatic floral note), dried fruits, pecan nuts and peat smoke, with a slightly sweet woody finish.

These new additions to Casa Turrent's 1880 range are available in 4 blends/wrapper types: Claro, Colorado, Oscuro and Maduro.
The 1880 range predominantly use Mexican grown tobaccos in their blends, with some Nicaraguan tobaccos added to the filler blend for the Maduro, and some Dominican tobaccos used in the Claro.
The Colorado and Oscuro are Mexican Puros (composed of only tobaccos grown in Mexico) and showcase the variety of flavours available from Mexican grown tobacco!!
Product Brand
Alberto and Alejandro Turrent, owners of Nueva Matacapan de Tabacos S.A de C.V are the first family of Mexico's cigar industry. The father-son team not only make some of Mexico's best cigars but are also the largest grower of cigar tobacco in the country. The San Andres Maduro leaf they grow outside of Veracruz is world renowned for its quality, and a variety of their tobaccos are important components in many of America's most popular premium cigar brands.
To keep the consistency of their flagship Casa Turrent line, Alejandro decided a large factory was not the best place to make the more complex Casa series. Alejandro took his great-grandfather's house and renovated it to make a boutique factory with 15 people to produce the Casa Turrent Series.
