Tasting Notes
This rare and limited release of just 6,000 bottles pays respect to The Antiquary's founders - crafted from Scotland's outstanding malt and grain whiskies, nurtured for over fifteen years and matured in Bordeaux Red Wine casks.
AROMA: Fresh, juicy red fruits like apple, red grape and pomegranate initially. The high malt content of this blend is clear with notes of sweet barley and honey. In time these give way for a pronounced cinnamon spice.
PALATE: The fresh fruit on the nose continues onto the palate and becomes flavours of fresh plum and cherry. A citrus note, like candied orange peel, emerges before a final pinch of cinnamon.
FINISH: Clean with consistent flavours of apple and grape.

The Antiquary line was initially created by the Hardie brother over 150 years ago to make the ‘perfect’ scotch blend. Using only the most fine and rare malts, they launched their creation in 1888.
With a name taken from a famous Sir Walter Scott novel, the pair hoped to imbue some of the history, passion and story into their bottlings that the book described!
