Come in Number 15 your time is now!

Ladies and gentlemen, cigar and whisky lovers welcome to today’s Sunday journal.

Today I am sampling something brand new to the UK and now in stock and available for you to try. The A.J. Fernandez Blend 15 This exciting new brand is a medium smoke with all the quality that comes as standard from any AJ production. AJ has put a lot of emphasis on how this product looks and tastes and that it is as good as any cigar coming from the AJ Fernandez factory.

For those of you who might not yet have tried AJ’s cigar here is a little background. Raised in Cuba and steeped in the rich tradition of the Fernandez cigar legacy, A.J. produces unparalleled premium cigars in Esteli, Nicaragua. Ensuring superior quality, the day-to-day operations are managed under the watchful eye of A.J. and his father Ismael, with assistance from the rest of his extended family.

Through a fusion of inherited Cuban techniques and learned patience, Fernandez filler tobaccos are grown from prized seeds which are propriety only to his family, making them one of the hottest properties in the cigar industry today with high quality and flavourful cigars.

So, I’m very excited to try this new addition as nothing I have had from A.J. Fernandez has ever disappointed me. From their Last Calls to a personal favourite, I share with all my customers and friends the Navegante.

On my dry draw is a great taste on that fantastic Nicaraguan soil, loads of minerals and a nice pepper note. And this is before I have even lit this cigar up.

The first part of the burn is smooth was a creaminess mixed in with that pepper I picked up on the dry draw. Now as you may have guessed I love a cigar, the time to relax and take your mind away from the world for an hour and let you mind wonder. And I find that as we step into 2021 and we look to the future for better and brighter days. A cigar just cannot do anything but make you smile. And soon my friends we will get the chance to sit once again with each other and regale stories of the year gone by and celebrate a new tomorrow and this Blend 15 is certainly the one I will be doing this with.

As I sit and reflect while going into the second third of the stick I am taken back by how evenly and solid the construction is, which makes me want to say this is also great for a good walking cigar. If you are like me and get frustrated when your smoke goes wonky and you spend have your walk recorrecting the burn kind of spoils the enjoyment. I do not think you would have a problem with this cigar personally. The creaminess does disappear and there is a dry flavour but also sweet, this reminds me of dried strawberries and a taste of almond nut.

Drawing into the close, that is my cigar joke for this journal. I can only highlight once again the smoothness of this smoke and for a medium body I am chuffed with what AJ has managed to do time and time again. That almond note mixed in with the minerals has me thinking of Biscotti and with my flat white on the go I would not only say this is as I said a great walking cigar but a good midmorning smoke. Do remember folks there is a cigar for every time of the day.

And that my friends wraps todays review up and lovely smoke that comes in a number of sizes depending on how long you want to take out of your day to enjoy. So glad to have these in stock to talk about. So have a look on our online store and we can send these cigars straight to your door.

Until next time stay safe and well. Look forward to seeing you all again soon.

‘Happy smoking’
