Robert Graham 1874 is 145 years old! Tickets Now on Sale for our Anniversary Party!

On behalf of Robert Graham 1874’s fantastic team and our wonderful suppliers, I have great pleasure to invite you to join our Company’s 145th Anniversary celebrations.

Robert Graham is Scotland’s oldest Whisky & Cigar Merchant. The Company was founded in 1874 in Glasgow by Sir Robert Graham , the Treasurer of Glasgow and it quickly expanded. At one point it had 22 outlets in Scotland, many of which were based around public transport depots and stations in the west of Scotland serving daily commuters. Needless to say, what was credited towards Robert Graham 1874 earlier success also contributed to the reduction in stores as more people abandoned public transport for their own vehicles. In the early 2000’s after a period of turbulence and closures, the Graham family decided to sell the only remaining shop in Glasgow’s St Vincent Street to an entrepreneur Ron Morrison which then led to a partnership with London based Mitchell Orchant. The two together successfully started re-building the business.

Being a passionate whisky and cigars lover,  I felt very lucky to have found Robert Graham 1874. When I bought the Company in 2014, I was amazed with its history and resilience and how it interweaved with the history of Scotland. I quickly realised that Robert Graham 1874 survived as a business for so long because of its very strong identity which is a wonderful mix of heritage, pride, adventure, strong own brands and an unstoppable urge of exploring.

Today, we have 5 shops across the UK (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cambridge & London) an online shop, a rare and collectible whisky auction (Global Whisky Auctions); we successfully market our own award-winning independent bottlings and last year we launched our own range of cigars which beautifully complement our water of life!

This coming July, Robert Graham will celebrate its 145th Anniversary and I would be delighted if you could join us! Not only you will be able to hang around the historical Broomhall House, an ancestral home of Scotland’s icon – King Robert the Bruce, but you will do that with some of the biggest Celebrities of the cigar and whisky world who kindly accepted my invitation to the celebrations.

You will also have a chance to sample best of Scottish cuisine with live entertainment throughout the night.

Broomhall House and the Family of King Robert the Bruce

Scottish history is brought to life through the perspective of one of its oldest families The Bruces. In fact you will breathe the history in when you are there.

The Bruces have been at the heart of Scotland’s history for over 1,000 years. Their home, Broomhall House, is filled with historical objects and fine art of international importance. 13 generations of Bruce’s have lived here. Several have made a significant contribution not only to Scotland’s but also to the world’s history.

The sword of King Robert the Bruce (The Outlaw King) is kept at Broomhall. He led the Scots to victory at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314.

We are delighted that The Bruce's allowed us to make their home the venue of choice for the Robert Graham 1874 anniversary celebration.
